Traveling is more than just a pastime; it is a transformative experience that brings joy and wonder. The excitement of packing your bags, the thrill of loading up the car, and the anticipation of adventure waiting at the end of the road—it all adds up to something magical. There is a unique joy in heading toward a destination you’ve always dreamed of, and with every mile, your anticipation grows. It is not just about where you’re going; it is about the journey itself and the memories that will unfold along the way.
So, where would I love to go? Here is my dream list.

Australia
Yes, I live in Australia, but the beauty of this vast country is that there are always new corners to explore. Here are a few places I have always wanted to visit:
– Darwin – The gateway to the Top End and a perfect mix of wilderness and culture.
– Katherine Gorge – A place of natural beauty, with towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters.
– Coober Pedy – The underground town where the desert meets a quirky, subterranean lifestyle.
– Nullarbor National Park – Vast, remote, and incredibly unique, offering some of Australia’s most stunning and isolated landscapes.
– Broome – A tropical paradise, known for its pearling history and beautiful sunsets.
– Wave Rock, WA – A marvel of nature that looks like it is straight out of a dream.
– Albany, WA – Where history meets the ocean, and stunning coastal views never seem to end.
– Adelaide – A city with charm, excellent food, and a strong arts culture.
– Clare Valley – One of Australia’s most renowned wine regions, with rolling hills and charming vineyards.
And that’s just scratching the surface! The East Coast also calls to me, with its beautiful beaches and vibrant cities.

America
The United States is a vast and diverse country with so many iconic and hidden gems. Here is where I would like to visit:
– New York – The city that never sleeps. There is a buzz about it that’s unlike anywhere else.
– Chicago – For its architecture, culture, and deep-dish pizza, of course.
– Washington, DC – To see the heart of American politics, history, and monuments.
– The White House – An iconic symbol of democracy that I would love to see in person.
– New Hampshire – The beauty of the White Mountains and quaint New England towns.
– Philadelphia – Where America’s story began, home to the Liberty Bell and so much more.
– Kansas (Tornado Alley) – A fascination with the raw power of nature.
– New Orleans – The heart of jazz, Mardi Gras, and an intoxicating mix of French, African, and Spanish cultures.
– Salem – To dive into the dark, intriguing history of the witch trials.
– Iowa (Field of Dreams) – A pilgrimage for any baseball fan.
– San Diego – Where the Top Gun house is, and the sunshine never seems to end.
Rest of the World
There are endless places around the globe that beckon me. Here are just a few:
– Iceland – A photographer’s paradise, with its dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, and volcanic terrain.
– Ireland – It’s been too long, and there’s so much more to see—and I miss the people!
– Germany – A chance to visit places my late husband spoke of, to retrace his memories and create new ones of my own.

The UK
Having left the UK for Australia in 2005, my heart still holds a deep connection to this land. The history, the culture, the landscapes—it is all part of who I am. Here are the places I would love to revisit:
– The Lake District – A place of childhood memories and where I spent my honeymoon. Its natural beauty will always feel like home.
– Scotland – For its dramatic landscapes and fascinating history.
– Cornwall– With its rugged coastline, quirky villages, and the ocean on its doorstep.
– Devon – A place of lush greenery and peaceful countryside.
– Somerset – Steeped in history and full of charm, it’s a place I would love to reconnect with.
So, what’s stopping you? Make your list, start dreaming, and begin planning your own adventures. There’s a whole world out there waiting to be explored, and every journey begins with that first step.
