An ‘Entertainments Officer’ plays a crucial role in organising and managing events and activities aimed at enhancing the social experience of a community. The role involves planning a variety of entertainment options, such as music, travel options, and recreational activities, while making sure that they meet the interests and needs of the target audience. But when the Entertainments Officer is a daughter and the target audience is a 75-year-old dad, where do you start?
In our household, I’m nicknamed ‘The Entertainments Officer’—yeah, I know, it’s pretty funny! I can hear you laughing. But it’s true; that is what he calls me. It all began on our trips away. I am always armed with music, whether it’s a playlist or a stack of albums. Before we even hit the road, you’d hear from the driver’s seat, “Hey, entertainments officer, where’s the music?” and so it began….
It got me wondering. What would a job description look like for the Entertainments Officer for this Buderim Duo?
