A poem by Jo: My mum

You were the first woman I knew in my life.

You’ve had many job titles. Mother, Daughter and wife.

My formative years , you were there for me.

Then a few years on, the same for Lee.

We shopped til we dropped. We went out for meals.

We chatted on the phone for what seemed like years.

We sat on the bed. We shared desserts.

We talked and we talked. Laughed until our ribs hurt.

We swapped clothes through the years as our sizes changed.

We shared secrets and fun as we turned life page.

No words I can say, I miss you too much.

I love you forever. My beautiful mum.
