Australian Rock Collective

Playing the music of Pink Floyd – ‘Wish you were here’ & ‘Dark side of the Moon.’

Welcome to Caloundra Events Centre. Events here are small and intimate with the Kings Theatre holding under 1000 people. The centre is less than 15 minutes from home and has free parking. What more do you need? Don’t worry, it has a bar! Dad and I were here to see “ARC.” Who is “ARC” you’re wondering? Well read on and I’ll tell you.

“ARC” are Australian Rock Collective. With a line-up boasting Kram from Spiderbait, Darren Middleton of Powderfinger, Mark Wilson from Jet, and Davey Lane from You Am I, they are a veritable roll call of Australian rock royalty, a supergroup. Individually, they’re masters of their craft. Together, they were unstoppable. The concert was an homage to the music of Pink Floyd, two albums played back to back. “Wish you were here,” and “Dark Side of the Moon.”

From the moment the first shimmering notes of ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ drifted through the venue, it was clear this was no ordinary gig — it was a celebration of music at its finest. By the time the final notes of the encore (‘Arnold Layne,’ ‘Another Brick in the Wall,’ and ‘Comfortably Numb’) rang out, the audience was on its feet, caught somewhere between the memories from their youth, and making new ones!

Every note was played with both reverence and raw energy. Every solo soared, every harmony landed, and every song reminded us why great music endures.

As we stepped out into the cool Caloundra night, the buzz of the crowd still echoing in our ears. “ARC” hadn’t just played Pink Floyd — they had honoured it, breathed fresh life into it, and reminded us why these albums are etched into rock history.  Nights like this aren’t just concerts — they’re shared experiences, stitched together with nostalgia, talent, and the magic of live music. And if “ARC” ever roll back into town, we’ll be there — front row, hearts wide open.
