About Me

Welcome to MadhatterPress — a little corner of the internet where stories, books, travel, history and the wonderfully messy business of being human come together.

I’m Joanne Hattersley, a writer, reviewer, storyteller and lifelong lover of words. I believe every person has a story worth telling, every book has a journey waiting to be discovered, and sometimes the best conversations happen when we simply sit down and share our thoughts.

Originally from the UK, I made Australia home in 2005, bringing with me a love of history, storytelling and an endless curiosity about the world around me. Writing has always been my way of making sense of life — the funny moments, the difficult moments, and all the ordinary moments in between.

MadhatterPress began as a tribute to my late husband, whose nickname inspired the name, but it has grown into something much bigger. It is a place for honest opinions, book reviews, travel adventures, personal reflections, interviews and those random thoughts that appear when you least expect them.

You’ll find reviews of books that make me think, stories that make me laugh, reflections that may make you pause, and occasionally a rant or two from my unfiltered corner of the world.

So, grab a coffee, settle in and explore.

After all, life is made up of stories — and I’m here to share mine while discovering yours along the way.
